kit includes hand dyed, stamped and stencilled fabric
to make the contemporary 20" pillow shown at right.
Black
fabric, which also covers back of pillow also, is signed
by the artist Rebecca Martinez .
Kit includes all cotton fabric plus zipper so your pillow
cover is completely washable. You will need to supply
your own pillow form.

This method of piecing was invented by our quilting great-grandmas
back when every bit of fabric was precious and couldn’t
be wasted. By stitching each little scrap of fabric to
a foundation of paper, no pattern was required and every
piece of fabric could be used. If you are lucky enough
to find a vintage quilt top which was constructed using
string piecing you might even find a bit of the original
newspaper still attached to the back of the quilt top.
Our pillow today is foundation pieced on muslin, which
means we don't have to pick all those tiny pieces of paper
of of the back.
